Epic Comedy Berlin runs multiple English-language stand-up comedy shows in central Berlin. Saying The Wrong Thing, at The Wall Comedy Club in Friedrichshain, hands Berlin's most experienced comedians complete creative freedom to test new material alongside the stuff that already works, so the room gets to see comedy being built rather than just performed. The Epic Comedy Showcase, at Zosch in Mitte, is the flagship, pulling together established names and the strongest of the up-and-coming, as well as the funniest comics travelling through the city. Darkest Thoughts, at Monbijou Theater in Mitte (from September), is our live improvised game-show, where the audience writes down their darkest thoughts and the comedians turn them into stand-up comedy on the spot.

What is on depends on the day. Epic Comedy Berlin runs comedy events in Berlin three nights of the week: Saying The Wrong Thing on Wednesdays in Friedrichshain, the Epic Comedy Showcase on Fridays in Mitte, and from 5 September 2026, Darkest Thoughts on Saturdays, also in Mitte. So if you are after comedy tonight, it comes down to what day it is. During the week, Wednesdays in Friedrichshain, and on the weekend, Friday and Saturday in Mitte. Whichever night you pick, book ahead if you can. The rooms are small and they fill.

Yes. Epic Comedy Berlin's Saturday show Darkest Thoughts is built entirely around it, taking the darkest thoughts the audience writes down anonymously and letting the comedians transform them into live stand-up comedy on the spot. Saying The Wrong Thing on Wednesdays often runs sharp and unfiltered too - no safety net, and full creative freedom, which the comedians tend to use. It varies by night though, and plenty of our Berlin shows land broad and easygoing as well. It is live stand-up, so no two nights are the same, and if one comedian is not to your taste, the next one is along in 5-10 minutes.

Not a word. Every show produced by Epic Comedy Berlin is performed entirely in English. Our lineups bring comedians from all over the world, and the crowd is a mix of Berliners, Germans from elsewhere, expats, and people who landed here last week, so English is simply the common ground. Some of us have been living here for years and still order coffee in English. Nobody will test you at the door.

Every show is performed in English, the venues sit in Mitte and Friedrichshain, with new locations constantly being added, and it is an easy night to slot into a trip. We do recommend booking online, even on the day, because the shows often sell out. It also solves the problem of showing someone around Berlin once you have run out of suggestions that are not a night club or a museum.

There is no fixed ticket price at our Wednesday and Friday shows in Berlin, because both nights run pay-what-you-want. You pay 2 euros online to reserve your seat, and the rest at the end of the show. Friday also has 15 euro table seats if you would rather sit at a table. The Saturday Darkest Thoughts show, returning 5 September 2026, is a fixed 15 euro ticket. That is the entire pricing structure. We have resisted every suggestion to make it cleverer.

Yes. Epic Comedy Berlin runs pay-what-you-want English comedy in Berlin every Wednesday and Friday, which means you decide what the night was worth once you have actually seen it. We would rather earn it in the room than talk you into it beforehand. What you put in at the end is what pays the comedians and keeps the lights on, so it counts. We just reckon you are better placed to judge it than we are. The Saturday Darkest Thoughts show is the exception, and works on a standard €15 ticket instead.

You can book tickets for Berlin stand-up comedy shows online from the Epic Comedy Berlin homepage or from each show's page on this site, or pay at the door on the night. Booking ahead is highly recommended for every show, because they fill up fast and often sell out. On Wednesdays and Fridays your 2 euros reserves a seat until 15 minutes before the show starts. Darkest Thoughts on Saturdays is a fixed ticket, so your 15 euros is your seat for the night. At the door we take card and cash. If you're unsure, the people who booked ahead are always noticeably more relaxed about the whole thing.

Yes. Epic Comedy Berlin tickets are refundable up to 24 hours before the show starts. If you know you cannot make it, do cancel rather than quietly not turning up, because it frees the seat for someone who wants it and comedy is better in a full room. Cancelling takes about ten seconds, which is less time than you will spend feeling vaguely guilty about it. If your plans change on the day, email us anyway. Past the 24 hour mark we cannot promise anything, but Berlin happens to people and we will do what we can.

Epic Comedy Berlin shows run about 90 minutes, a little longer on Fridays. Saying The Wrong Thing on Wednesdays has doors at 19:30, starts at 20:30 and ends at 22:00. The Epic Comedy Showcase on Fridays has doors at 20:00, starts at 21:00 and finishes around 22:45. Darkest Thoughts on Saturdays (from 5 September) has doors at 20:00, starts at 20:30 and finishes at 22:00. A 2 euro reservation holds your seat until 20:20 on Wednesdays and 20:45 on Fridays, and after that it is first come, first served. The seats with a decent view go first, and nobody hands them back. The poolside towel method is not available, so early arrival will have to do.

All three Epic Comedy Berlin venues are central and easy to reach by public transport. The Wall Comedy is at Grünberger Strasse 84 in Friedrichshain, about 8 minutes walk from U-Bahn Samariterstrasse or 2 minutes walk from Boxhagener Platz tram station. Zosch is at Tucholskystrasse 30 in Mitte, right next to S-Bahn Oranienburger Strasse. Monbijou Theater is at Monbijoustrasse 3b in Monbijoupark, Mitte, near S-Bahn Oranienburger Strasse or Monbijoupark tram station. Each show's event page links to the venue on Google Maps. Darkest Thoughts has its own directions and a map on the event page, because it is not in Monbijou's main theater but in the indoor room around the back, next to the park.

Access varies by venue, and for Epic Comedy Berlin's three rooms we will be straight with you, none of them are great. The Wall Comedy in Friedrichshain is street level but has a step at the entrance and again in the back before the toilets. Zosch in Mitte has its stage down in the basement, and Monbijou Theater is up a flight of stairs, so both of these are effectively not wheelchair accessible. Old Berlin rooms are old Berlin rooms. If you have access needs for any of our shows, email us before booking and we will see what we can do.

Epic Comedy Berlin does not set its own age limit, but German youth protection law applies at our venues. In Germany the legal drinking age is 16 for beer and wine and 18 for spirits, and under 16s need to be with a parent or guardian. If you would like to bring someone under 18 to a show, email us before booking and we will see what we can do. We are comedians rather than lawyers, so expect an honest answer rather than a definitive one.

Drinks at all three Epic Comedy Berlin venues, food at one. Zosch in Mitte, home of the Friday Epic Comedy Showcase, serves a menu of German dishes and snacks, so you can make a full evening of it. Friday's 15 euro table seats put you at an old school German beer table with room to spread out. The Wall Comedy Club and Monbijou Theater are more drinks focused, so eat first if you would rather your stomach was not part of the show.

Occasionally. If you would rather not appear in any footage, tell the door or bar staff on the night and we will remove or blur you from anything that goes out. No explanation needed. We also ask everyone to keep their phones away during the show, because one lit screen pulls the whole room out of the moment.

Yes, and a group makes the room better. For groups of more than 10 people, email us and we will sort out a group booking or a discount at any Epic Comedy Berlin show, whether it is a birthday, a work night out, or showing visitors around Berlin. For smaller groups, book ahead so you can sit together, rather than scattered across the room like a Ryanair seating plan.
